The business world is full of talented and dedicated female entrepreneurs who not only run successful businesses but, in many cases, also juggle the needs of their families. The Best Business Women Awards are designed to recognise the achievement of those women across a wide range of business categories from women across the UK.

The Best Business Women Awards announced their finalists for 2019 and among them were a list of 5 women who were excelling in the legal field.

Ayesha Nayyar from Nayyars Solicitors was shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Business Women in Legal Services for Nayyars Solicitors. The gala final of The Best Business Women Awards was held on 11^th October 2019 at The Tower Hotel in London where the winners were announced. She was delighted to be announced as the WINNER!

Debbie Gilbert, organiser of The Best Business Women Awards said ‘This is the 5^th year of these prestigious awards. We were delighted with the number of entries this year, which came in from all over the UK. This is a tough competition judged by business experts. To be a finalist is a major achievement. Finalists have been selected for their business acumen, determination, creativity and tenacity. Well over 80% of start-ups fail in the first 3 years and all our finalists are all shining examples of being successful entrepreneurs who have proved their success to our judges.’

Ayesha says “I was honoured to have won at these awards! The Firm was started from humble beginnings with just a telephone, a note pad and a business plan when I was pregnant with my 3^rd child. I am incredibly proud that 8 years later all the hard work, sleepless nights and juggling have been worth it.  The business has experienced year on year growth and far exceeded my expectations. I hope I can prove that for determined women the sky really is the limit!”

Ayesha now goes on to join an alumni of successful women who have won this prestigious award.

The Stockport Business Awards is an event organised by Clarke Nicklin Chartered Accountants, with the aim of celebrating business excellence within the Stockport Borough and continue to grow the business community in the area. Stockport is one of the best places to do business in the whole of Greater Manchester. It has enterprises of every size, shape and description, a skilled workforce, great transport links and infrastructure, world-famous corporations and legions of SME’s.

There are a number of different categories and Nayyars Solicitors were Finalists in Business of the Year (1-5 million).

Managing Partner Ayesha Nayyars said “Being shortlisted is a massive achievement and testament to the hard work that the Team at Nayyars have put in over the last 12 months. I had a vision when I set up the firm and that was to provide a big firm service with a compassionate attitude. Over the last 8 years we have firmly put ourselves on the legal map and are proud to be part of the local business community. Our Head Office is in Cheadle and although we have plans to spread our wings further afield, we are fully committed to Stockport.”

Nayyars Solicitors were Finalists in 2 categories Law Firm of the Year and Partner of the Year at The Manchester Legal Awards 2019 which took place on 7^th March 2019. This is a night that celebrates the finest legal talent Manchester has and a key night on the calendar for lawyers.

Ayesha said “As a born and bred Mancunian (who is immensely proud of my roots) being nominated is a recognition of the long legal journey that I have taken. Starting out as a young solicitor was always going to be hard but with the determination and work ethic of a donkey (on good days I call it a horse) I always set my sights high. Nayyars were nominated for 2 awards. The first was Small Firm of the Year 2019 and recognises the success the business has had in the last 12 months. We have opened a 2nd office, diversified into other areas, dealt with a number of high profile cases and received national media attention. We have always been dynamic and open to change at Nayyars but last year was exceptional. We took leaps and bounds in our growth and strategy.

The second award was for Partner of the Year 2019. The vision I had for Nayyars when I first started out was to be the best Small Firm on the High Street.  Having worked in a big city centre firm, my aim was to provide that same service level attitude to every client that walked through the door. Standards do not slip just because you are now working at a smaller level. They stay the same. I also believed that being a solicitor was about helping people in their time of need. The empathy and support they need should always be there from a good legal team. We are often the first port of call for our distressed clients and we take that responsibility seriously. Thankfully the vision paid off and the whole Nayyars team accept that to work at Nayyars means you are embodying that attitude. “

Some of the best professionals and businesses from the English Asian community gathered for a glamorous night to celebrate their accomplishments where 32 lucky finalists were crowned winners. The event took place at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel on 14^th June 2019.

Nayyars Solicitors were amongst 10 Finalists shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year. We were incredibly proud to be announced WINNERS on the night!

In the last 12 months we have increased profits by 50%, worked with mainstream TV and radio channels and honoured our charitable commitments. 2019 so far has been an incredible year for us and winning this Award has recognised that”.

Ayesha Nayyar of Nayyars Solicitors won at the Law Society’s prestigious Excellence Awards 2019, the highest accolade for law firms in England and Wales.

Ayesha Nayyar won in the Sole Practitioner of the Year category.

“As a young solicitor I would look at the names of Finalists in the Law Society Awards and they were all heavyweights in the field. I am incredibly flattered to now see my name as a WINNER! Nayyars is a relatively young firm with a real focus on being dynamic and adapting to the ever-changing legal market. I am proud to be leading a firm that has never stood still and constantly strives to better itself. The Team work incredibly hard and winning an award like this shows us that all the hard work does indeed pay off”.

Law Society president Simon Davis said: “There are more than 140,000 solicitors in England and Wales – to have won an Excellence Award is to be recognised as among the very best of the profession.

“The firms and solicitors shortlisted should be commended for going above and beyond to support their clients, often navigating tricky and sometimes contentious areas of the law.

“With the justice system so under strain, we should take this opportunity to celebrate the incredible work solicitors do day-in and day-out – and to recognise the immense contribution they make to our society.”

Winners were announced at the Law Society’s Excellence Awards ceremony in London on 23 October 2019.

Ayesha was honoured to have been nominated as a Finalist in the Greater Manchester Asian Business Leaders Awards 2020. She was the only female finalist in all categories (26 finalists altogether) and we were rooting for her win!

It was a packed night with a scrumptious 3 course meal served to all the guests at The Vermilion Banqueting Hall in Manchester. This event was a celebration of the finest business leaders in the community – all of whom were in great spirits.

We are proud to confirm that Ayesha WON on the night as Leader in Professional Services. Ayesha said “Well done to all the Finalists and Winners. It is great to be collecting awards on stage but for most of us here tonight,  there will have been a long journey to get to the position we are now in.  Anyone who knows me will tell you, that this is the culmination of almost 25 years of solid hard graft. It is a lifestyle choice when you choose to excel in your field. You never switch off and give up so much of your life to make the business succeed. I never play on the fact that I am a woman but I have to admit I am thrilled to be flying the flag for women tonight!”.

Muzahid Khan, one of the organisers of the event, was keen to point out that these awards are not merely a pat on the back for the best of the business, but work as an inspiration to others. He called on all winners to get out to into their local schools and communities and engage with people, sharing the secrets of their successes and offering an insight into the fast paced changing world of commerce.

He said “All of our awards winners are positive role models and in the case of Ayesha, she is a shining symbol to women everywhere to overcome barriers and smash through the glass ceiling”.
